Sweet and juicy pears are wrapped with prosciutto and used as dippers for warm baked brie. This sophisticated appetizer is one of the easiest you’ll ever make and perfect for sharing with your sweetheart!
I’m sure you all know by now how much I love appetizers. So, it’s only natural I’d have one up my sleeve perfect for sharing with your Valentine. This one is so good you may not want to share it at all!
I’ve been on a pear kick for the past month or so – I just can’t get enough. From snacking on a pair every day to this salad, I have yet to tire of the fruit. Prosciutto wrapped pears are dynamite on their own, but use them as a dipper for warm baked brie and you’ve go yourself one amazing appetizer.
If you’re a salty-sweet food fan, you’re going to love this. Prosciutto has a salty flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweet pears. Buttery brie just takes it all to the next level! Oh, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction of course.
This appetizer would be a great starter to whatever meal you’re planning – especially this. When I first made it, we enjoyed it alongside grilled chicken. It also goes perfectly with a glass of wine!
You can make this recipe in about 15 minutes – by the time it takes the brie to heat up you’ll have the pears wrapped and ready to go. Quick, easy, but looks fancy! That my kind of food.
- 1 Wheel Brie
- 2 Pears, cored and sliced into 32 pieces
- 16 Slices Prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise
- Kosher Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- Balsamic Reduction, for drizzling
- Preheat the oven to 350º.
- Place the brie wheel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the brie for 10-15 minutes or until it’s just starting to ooze and is soft in the middle.
- Meanwhile, wrap each pear with a prosciutto slice and lay on a platter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Remove the brie from the oven and place on the platter with the pears and drizzle everything with balsamic reduction.
- This recipe can be cut down easily. You can bake however much brie you need, just cut down the baking time accordingly. Once brie is cut it will melt faster, so keep an eye on it in the oven!

Keri, I think we just became best friends! This is such a great appetizer. Reminds me of something I would eat in wine country. Love the simple rusticness. I could make a whole meal out of this! Hope you have a great 3 day weekend friend : )

Kyle and I ate this with grilled chicken and before we knew it we ate 3/4 of the brie! So yes, I definitely could make a meal of this, too! I have dreams of visiting wine country some day, but for now I eat things like this and drink wine here. Thanks Natalie – I hope you had a great weekend. I’m sad it’s over!
