Welcome to “Friday Favorites”! Today I’ll share with you a few things I’ve been loving over the last few weeks.
Ever since I started my blog, I have wanted to include a “favorites” post. I always chickened out and never actually posted one because I didn’t know if anyone would care to read it. However, I’ve come across a few blogs that do similar types of posts, so I decided to go for it!

1. Popcorn
First up is my all-time favorite snack food. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this cheesy pepper popcorn. If you read that post you may understand my obsession a little more. Anyway, I tried to limit my consumption to once a week, but that’s been out the window lately. I just can’t get enough. I’ve always loved popcorn, but this cheesy pepper version is my favorite. I never get sick of it and I never will. Take popcorn away from me and I’d probably die. Yes, that is dramatic, but I just love it so much!
By the way, I’ve been eating popcorn with wine long before Olivia Pope made it trendy. If you know what I’m referring to – high five!
2. Swiss Cheese
Another snack I’ve been loving lately is swiss cheese. I just love swiss cheese. Back when I had a real world job, I used to do my grocery shopping every Friday after work. Which, for me, was generally 12:30 since I started at 4am most days. I ate breakfast at 6 am, lunch at 10am, but then didn’t eat dinner until 6pm. Needless to say I was ravenous after my shopping trip. I would go to the deli for swiss cheese and then eat it in the car on the way home! I’d limit myself to just a slice or two, and then I’d eat another slice or two once I was home. It always did the trick to keep me full until dinner.
Now that I don’t have that weekly routine anymore, I’ve kind of forgot about my love for swiss cheese. I picked some up last week and have been enjoying it ever since. Just a slice or two following a piece of fruit makes a great afternoon snack!
3. Soup
I’ve always been a huge soup fan. Even more so the past few weeks due to the subzero temperatures we’ve been experiencing here in the northeast. There is nothing better than a steaming bowl of soup on a cold day to warm you up. I don’t have a particular favorite – whatever I whip up or pull out of the freezer is good enough for me!
4. Smoothies
As much as I love warm soup I also love cold smoothies! If I sit in front of a sunny window and sip on one it makes me feel as though it’s summer. A girl can dream.
Anyway, I’ve been drinking some sort of smoothie at least 3-5 times a week. My green smoothie and sunshine smoothie are my go-to recipes. Sometimes I swap out ingredients depending on what I have on hand. Regardless of what I throw in, I always end up with a delicious and healthy smoothie. They really make me feel great and have definitely helped me lose a few pounds. Once you enter the smoothie world, it’s hard to imagine how you’ve ever lived without them!
5. Vitamix
I am obsessed with my Vitamix. I couldn’t enjoy all the smoothies that I do without it. This blender produces the smoothest smoothies you could imagine – they come out perfect every time! Not only does it make great smoothies, but it also produces hot soup (smooth or chunky!), sauces, nut butters, and can chop vegetables. I could go on and on, but I won’t. Just watch a QVC demo and you’ll be sold!

Well there you have it! My first favorites post. I hope you enjoyed what I’ve been loving! I won’t be doing these every Friday, but you can expect to see them pop up about twice a month. Yea for fun Friday posts! Ok, I am *obsessed* with popcorn too. It’s my favorite after dinner snack to make to munch on while I watch tv. Have you ever tried truffle salt popcorn? Oh my gosh Keri, it is SOOO good! Just cook the popcorn in olive oil on the stove top, then sprinkle it with truffle salt. So good you might eat your fingers due to munching too quickly.
And major blender envy over here! A Vitamix is at the top of my Kitchen Gadget Wants list. For now I have a NutriBullet, which works really well, but it’s just not the same. Someday!

Oh goodness! Truffle Salt? On popcorn?! Totally going to have to try that. By the way, I just finished a bowl of my cheesy pepper popcorn. I really have a problem! 😉

What a fun post, Keri! And I totally love reading Natalie’s, too! I’m been on a popcorn kick lately, too! I have it a few times a week at night for a snack. And I love swiss cheese! I need to buy it more, as I never have it in my house!
